Jeffrey: The best thing that I can say about anyone actory is someone thatâs present. What is it energy? Does she prepareâ¦just talk about working with her? Jerry and I were supposed to be on the same page when it came to that, but it ends up we both had different dialect coaches in Ireland so God knows what he was doing. I was constantlyâyou know and then the arguments always became about well what part of Ireland are you in? I donât know the part that sounds like Iâm sounding right now! Iâm not exactly sure where that is. I mean anybody from my driver Paul to the sound guys to extras, whoever would listen to me. Jeffrey: Yeah, I ran my lines with every Irish person in all of Dublin and Wicklow county. ![]() When you were doing the accent did you meet people in Ireland and talk to them and try to capture a personality? I donât know what Iâm saying but the spirit of an Irish person. Q: I thought you captured an Irish character. And if you missed the movie clips I previously posted, you can watch them here. In the film, Jeffrey is someone that Hilary Swankâs character meets in So to help promote the movie, I was able to participate in roundtable interviews witha lot of the cast and the one below is with Jeffrey Dean Morgan. PS I Love You is out in the UK on 4th January 2008.With Gerryâs words as her guide, Holly embarks on a touching, exciting and often hilarious journey of rediscovery in a story about marriage, friendship and how a love so strong can turn the finality of death into new beginning for life. But men, be warned: while many a romantic comedy can be enjoyed by both sexes, this really isn't one of them. Chirpy Swank is likely to divide audiences with her toothy turn as needy Holly, but she's an efficient actress as ever and has decent chemistry with Butler in the flashback scenes. Lisa Kudrow and Harry Connick, Jr add comic bite as Holly's straight-talking friends, the latter so straight-talking he has to take pills for it. Quirky moments like this offset the film's otherwise predictable narrative and mainstream sentimentality. After a slightly awkward opening scene featuring the couple bickering and making up, the film delivers an emotional funeral that's all the more touching for being set in a bar, where each mourner downs a shot for the deceased (he was Irish, although you wouldn't always know that from Gerard Butler's accent). There's nothing like a 'love beyond the grave' theme to bring on the waterworks - just look at Ghost - so if you're the romantic type, PS I Love You is guaranteed to give your hanky a good work out. Thanks to Gerry's missives, Holly learns to get out of the house and get on with life in this soppy but sweet tear-jerker. ![]() It turns out he wrote them before he died and has arranged for them to be delivered throughout the year. New Yorker Holly is stunned when she starts receiving letters from Gerry (Gerard Butler). Hilary Swank is a young widow haunted by her dead husband in this sentimental romantic comedy.
